TELEPSYCHIATRY
Telepsychiatry across California: Same-week online psychiatric appointments
Care with Fady Boules, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Good psychiatric care shouldn't depend on where you live, whether you can get time off work, or how far away the nearest provider is. For a lot of people across California—especially out here in the Inland Empire and the surrounding areas—those logistical barriers are exactly why they never get seen.
Telepsychiatry removes them. From a private spot at home, on your phone or laptop, you get the exact same careful psychiatric evaluation and ongoing care you'd get in the office—without the commute, the waiting room, or taking a half-day off.
CALL (909) 707-6261 →Leave a message — a team member calls back within the hour, or request a callback.
If you are in crisis right now, please don't wait for a callback. Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (free, 24/7), text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line, or go to your nearest emergency room. If someone's life is in immediate danger, call 911.
Wherever you are in California, we can meet you there.
We offer same-week virtual appointments, real conversations, and a treatment plan built around your actual life.
Who it's for
Is online psychiatric care right for you?
Telehealth psychiatry isn't a lesser version of care—for most people, it's simply the version that actually fits. This might be right for you if:
- No One Nearby
- The nearest psychiatric provider is a long drive—or a long waitlist—away.
- No Room in the Schedule
- Between work, school, or caregiving, blocking out a half-day for an in-person appointment just isn't realistic.
- Home Is Easier
- Leaving the house for an appointment feels like a lot right now, and being seen from your own comfortable space feels safer.
- You Already Live On Video
- You'd rather talk from your couch than sit in a clinic waiting room, and you want virtual mental health care that fits how you already do everything else.
- You Value Privacy
- A discreet video visit from home beats the chance of running into someone you know in a local waiting room.
If any of these fit, telepsychiatry is worth a look. It isn't right for every single situation—some things are better handled in person, and we'll always be honest with you about that—but for most people, it's care that finally fits into a real life.
Getting started
How our virtual psychiatric care works
A telehealth video visit is simpler than you'd think. Every path starts the exact same way: a real, human conversation.
-
Start with a free 15-minute call
No pressure, no commitment—just a chance to say what's going on and hear whether telepsychiatry is the right fit for you.
-
A secure video visit
We meet on a private, secure video platform. There is no complicated software to wrestle with—just a simple link you click. We take a careful clinical history and get a real look at what you're experiencing, and you leave with a clear picture and a concrete plan.
-
Ongoing care from wherever you are
Follow-up appointments happen the same easy way. If online medication management is part of the plan, we choose it carefully, explain it, and fine-tune it based on how you respond—all by video, safely within the legal rules that apply to your specific care.
What it costs
Insurance & cost
Accessible mental health care across Riverside and San Bernardino counties—and everywhere else in California we reach by video—is a core priority for this practice.
Insurance accepted
We proudly accept IEHP and Medi-Cal to serve the Inland Empire community, along with most major insurances.

Common questions
Questions patients ask
Are you a psychiatrist?
No—and it's a fair thing to ask. Your care here is provided by Fady Boules, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (an MD or DO). A PMHNP is an advanced-practice provider who specializes in mental health—trained and licensed to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe and manage psychiatric medications. Different training, same goal: careful, thorough psychiatric care.
Is telepsychiatry as effective as in-person care?
For most people, yes—a video visit is just as effective as sitting in the office, and for many, the convenience makes it far easier to keep up with consistently over time. Some specific situations are better handled in person, and we'll tell you honestly if yours is one of them.
Is it private and secure?
Yes. Visits happen on a secure, private, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform—not a standard consumer video-chat app. What you share stays legally protected and entirely confidential.
What do I need for a virtual visit?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera, a private spot to talk, and a stable internet connection. We send a simple link to your email or phone—there's nothing to install and no tech skills required.
Can you prescribe medication by video?
Many psychiatric medications can be safely prescribed by video across California. Some—particularly certain controlled medications—carry specific federal and state rules, and in some cases may require an in-person visit at our Redlands clinic first. We will always be upfront with you about exactly what applies to your care so there are no surprises.
What if I’m having an emergency?
Telepsychiatry is not for emergencies or acute crisis situations. If you are in crisis, experiencing a mental health emergency, or worried about your physical safety, don't wait for an appointment—use the crisis resources on this page to get immediate, local help.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No referral is needed to get started. You can begin with a free 15-minute call, or request a callback and our office will reach out directly.
